Billabook Cancellation Protection ("Protection") is an optional add-on you can buy when choosing your room or at checkout. In exchange for a non-refundable Protection fee, it lets you cancel your booking for any reason up until the hotel's check-in time and get back 100% of your room cost - even if the hotel's or supplier's cancellation policy would otherwise charge a cancellation fee or make the booking non-refundable.

1. Buying Protection:

1. Protection is optional. It is added to your booking only if you select it - either on the room you choose on the hotel page or at checkout. It is never selected for you: if you select it when choosing your room, checkout shows it already selected, and you can remove it there before you pay.
2. Protection is offered only on eligible bookings, so it may not be available for every booking.
3. The Protection fee is shown at checkout before you pay. It is charged together with your booking and is shown separately from the room cost on your checkout summary and on your receipt.

2. The Protection fee is non-refundable:

1. The Protection fee is non-refundable under all circumstances, including when you cancel the booking, when your room cost is refunded under Protection, and when the booking is not used.

3. Cancelling a protected booking:

1. To use Protection, cancel your booking through Manage Booking on Billabook before the hotel's check-in time on your check-in date.
2. The check-in time that applies is the one shown when you buy Protection at checkout and in Manage Booking, in the hotel's local time.
3. When you cancel in time, you get a refund of 100% of your room cost - the total you paid for the booking less the Protection fee. Any amount already refunded to you for the booking counts toward this refund.
4. The refund is issued automatically when your cancellation is processed, back to the original payment method used for the booking.

4. After check-in time and no-shows:

1. If you cancel after the hotel's check-in time on your check-in date, Protection does not apply and nothing is refundable.
2. If you do not arrive at the hotel (a no-show), nothing is refundable.

5. Changes to your booking:

1. Bookings cannot be modified - including dates, room type and guest details. Any change requires cancelling your booking and making a new booking at the rates available at that time.
2. Protection applies only to the booking it was bought with. It does not move to a new booking.

6. Other terms:

1. These terms are in addition to Billabook's Terms and Conditions. For a protected booking cancelled before the hotel's check-in time, these terms decide the refund of your room cost instead of the hotel's or supplier's cancellation policy.
