The Telang Usan was created with a vision in mind - a hotel who's service reflected the friendly culture of Sarawak that showcased authentic Sarawakian art and conformed to international Hoteliers' standards of comfort and cleanliness and a hotel that created job opportunities for Sarawakians offering the opportunity to train and familiarise them to the demanding standards of professionalism in the Industry. We opened in 1989 and are proudly known as the world's first Orang Ulu* owned and managed hotel. Our uniqueness is not confined to the ethnic decor but cuisine as well - the Telang Usan has over the years popularised Dayak cooking and is established as the place to enjoy original (and imaginative!) Dayak cuisine. The Telang Usan is tucked in a leafy area of Kuching and is within 10 minutes' walk of the Waterfront and the Main Bazaar an ideal location for business or leisure travellers. It was confered 3-star status by MOCAT the Malaysian Ministry of Culture Arts and Tourism.
